I wanted to go to Miami for my Bachelorette party.
Since we had bought our airline tickets, I had been counting down the days for this trip. Last week, I felt like the longest week of my life. Throughout the week, I slowly packed my bags, did research on what we were doing, and realized that I was finally going on a well-deserved trip with some of my favorite girls!
While I was extremely stressed with work, exhausted from personal issues, and dealing with some mental issues, I boarded the plane with excitement on how amazing this trip would be.
And I was not wrong.
Saturday
I do not fly well. My anxiety rises, and I feel sick to my stomach. Yet, I felt calmed and relax on this flight.
Because we flew Southwest, we had to fly into Ft. Lauderdale, and take a Lyft XL to Miami. We arrived at our hotel a little early, but I quickly fell in love. We stayed at the Villa Italia, and it was the cutest! The garden was well-kept, tables everywhere, and the front-desk receptionist was the sweetest lady. Even though we were early, she kept our bags and told us to explore Miami.
We ended up going to Target to get snacks, and other stuff the girls needed.
After dropping our shopping bags off at the lobby, we realized we were all hungry. I quickly checked Google for Cuban food and ended up at Las Olas, a delicious cafe that had GREAT Yelp reviews. We later found out that this cafe was highly recommended for Cuban food. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich, and wow, it was perfection. As simple as that sandwich was, the cheese was melted perfectly, the bread was crunchy, and my stomach was happy.
Later that night, we went to Naked Taco, which is a place I had read was perfect for bachelorette parties. And those reviews were correct. We were given free shots multiple times; the food was excellent and even gave us complimentary champagne to get us to leave our table and head to the upstairs patio. The patio was beautiful and had a beautiful pool. It was too chilly for us to dip our feet in, but damn, I was tempted.

We went downstairs at 9:15 p.m. to meet the limo that would drive us around South Beach. For one hour, we danced and sang to all of our favorite songs. Once we got to Ocean Drive, people kept asking my bachelorette party for photos. A few included two girls from Spain, a guy who was celebrating his divorce with his friends, and other bachelorette parties.
Afterward, we ended up at Mongo’s Tropical Cafe, where they had a Pitbull impersonator, played various types of Latin and top 40 music, and even had the DJ call out our party. Honestly, I had so much fun seeing all the club’s dancers, but we decided to see what else South Beach had to offer.
We took a quick trip to the beach, where I put my feet in the water. It was COLD, but it was nice to experience the Atlantic Ocean directly instead of being in the Gulf of Mexico.
The night ended at Clevelander South Beach Hotel and Bar, where we watched the end of the MMA fight and danced for a while before realizing that we were exhausted. Most of us had been up since 5 a.m., so it’s no surprise we were ready to head out by 1 a.m.
Sunday
Sunday was honestly my favorite day throughout the trip. The party had rented a party boat, and we just spent the day dancing and day-drinking. Since we had gone to Target the day before, we went into the boat full of wine, champagne, La Croix (hibiscus and lime flavored, of course), and a ton of snacks. People kept staring at us, but we didn’t care. It was my bachelorette party and we were there to have the time of our lives.
After dancing the day away, we ended up at South Pointe Park to watch the sunset and the cruise ships leave the dock. Afterward, we headed back to the hotel to watch movies, gossip, and eat junk food.
I ordered pizza for the girls from Bella Napoli Pizzeria, which was a hit. Eventually, we all passed out from the sun, alcohol, and food.
Monday
When I was told we were doing a food tour, I was EXCITED! We were going to tour Little Havana.
Here is the list of stops:
- El Pub Restaurant for a beef picadillo empanada
- Ball and Chain for the best mojito I ever had
- Olds Havana Restaurant for an authentic Cuban sandwich
- Yisell Bakery for a guava pastellito that made my tastebuds explode
- Los Pinarenos Fruteria for a refreshing guarapo that made me feel much more hydrated
- Azucar Ice cream for a Maria ice cream that is making me miss Miami

In between, we got to see the Miami version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, stop at a pharmacy for cute souvenirs, and see Domino Park understand its significance to the community.
Afterward, we ended up at Wynwood Walls, which was a suggestion from our tour guide, where we got to see beautiful art installations. We went home to nap.
In the evening, we went to La Ventana, where the food made me feel like I had to be rolled out. I ordered tapas and an apple soda, but everyone’s food looked delicious. My friend/bridesmaid Kathlyn ordered chicharrones and made me realize that I should have ordered that.
We spent the last night in Miami talking about our experiences, my wedding, life, love, and other stuff.
Honestly, my bachelorette party was exactly what I needed to relax and forget about work with some amazing girls. Now its time to get me to the altar to marry the love of my life.
